Durrës

Durres, the 3000 years old, Illyrian city from 627 B.C.

Where you can find the signs and influences of the different ages, from anticity to the Middle Age, to nowadays. In the Castle of Durres, you can notice this in the walls build in the ancient times. And reinforced during Venetian influence with Venetian towers. And later later the signs of  influence of ottoman invasion.

The main attractions are the Amphitheater (second biggest in Balkans with 15.000 people capacity, and other roman constructions like the Forum and the Roman Thermes.
