There are a lot of reasons why visit Albania during the autumn, i am mentioning here just three of them.

During autumn, you can be present in the harvest of grapes. There are different traditional techniques in preparing “rakia”, vinegar, and wine.
Korca has a variety of apples and an amazing process of preparing cakes, jams, compote, and a lot of other apple desserts.
Jams and syrups made of plumbs, pomegranate, figs, blueberries are some of the food preparations different receipts from region to region.
This is something you dont want to miss during your visit in Albania.
Olives and virgin oil
Albania is well- known its olives and its virgin oil. There are a lot of houses who prepare homemade olive oil, mainly around Vlora region and middle Albania (Elbasan, Berat, etc.)
Chestnut forests
During this season, many families move from their city homes to their origin villages for the harvest period of chestnuts, hazelnuts, nuts.
Many areas get revitalized. You can visit the chestnut forests of Tropoja, Puka, or Dukagjini. Also you can make a farmhouse experience and enjoy their hospitality.
For those who choose hiking to the peaks in the Alps, they can enjoy the harvest of wild blueberries which get matured during this season too.
2. Rich Albanian Cuisine
For food lovers, autumn is a good chance to taste salty food or sweet recipes too. Also, you can see preparing the traditional Albanian recipes. These recipes are different for each region.
For those who wish to taste these receipts, they can visit one of the agritourism farms. In this farms, i love the way that they mix tradition with modernity, even in cooking combination, service, and design.
So, while autumn is one of my favorite times of the year, it can be a busy time as well, from gathering to time of preparing.
The famous “Byrek“
You all taste American pie, but here in Albania, we have Albanian Pie ( Albanian: Byrek ) as well.
I like some Albanian pie like spinach pie, pumpkin pie, hazelnuts pie, leek pie, but the most taste “byrek” you will find it in Korca, the famous ‘lakror’.
One of the most amazing places to try all of this is the famous agritourism restaurant ‘Mrizi I Zanave,’ in Fishte, Lezhe.
